Typically:
Installation or Modification of a new or existing Fire Alarm system.

From:
Conventional Fire Alarms systems where detection devices are wired in zones, e.g. basement (zone 1), ground floor (zone 2), and first floor (zone 3).

If a Smoke/Heat Detector or Call Point is activated the fire alarm will activate. The panel will then indicate which zone has been activated.

To:
Analogue Fully Addressable Fire Alarm systems where detection devices are wired in loops incorporating zones.

Each device is given an address e.g. 25. When the commissioning is complete the panel is programmed and each address is given a label, so for example 25 would be "Manager’s Office". If that device is activated then the fire alarm will activate and the panel will display "FIRE - Manager’s Office".

Test and Commission, then provide Certification and Log Book for the end user responsible for the management of Health and Safety.

• Periodic Inspection & Testing to BS 7671

Typically:
A Periodic Inspection Report is used to report on the safety condition of an existing electrical installation.

Every electrical installation deteriorates with use and age. It is important for the person responsible for the maintenance of the installation to be sure that the safety of users is not put at risk, and that the installation continues to be in a safe and serviceable condition.

Though it may be considered at face value that an existing system is not of an age to raise concerns over deterioration of wiring, it may still be necessary to carry out a Periodic Report if changes in use of the premises have occurred, which have led to, or might lead to, deficiencies in the installation.

A typical example of this may be a change of tenancy.
