Our History
We founded Serkit Electrical Limited in 1997 to combine our skills and considerable experience of electrical installation. We set out to build a company that genuinely put the customer first.
Since that day, we have grown steadily, taking on bigger projects and larger clients, but never forgetting the clients who helped us to get to where we are today.
We now have a growing team of talented staff, including electrical engineers, project managers and estimators. Our success is due, in no small part, to our reputation and the recommendations of our clients. And it is these clients that remain at the heart of our business. Simply satisfying our customer needs isn't enough for us. We want our customers to be delighted with our work.
We don't consider ourselves to be a run-of-the-mill contractor. We are independent and flexible, and believe wholeheartedly in giving the best customer service. Still based in Sheffield – where it all began for us –we have worked nationwide on a diverse range of projects such as schools, commercial premises, social housing and even life saving medical installations; we share a wealth of experience.

About Us
Our existing clients recognise that we can comfortably deliver multi-million pound contracts, and that we achieve this through hard work and commitment, giving them exactly what they want first time, every time.
We also provide the same service on smaller projects, with the same level of dedication and attention to detail. All our customers are important to us - our objective is to ensure that they are delighted with our work.
We work across a wide range of Industrial and Commercial sectors, many of which have very different disciplines such as Social Housing, the NHS, Schools, Solar PV and R&D work for innovative industrial products. In doing so, we have worked for some of the largest building contractors in the country, including Interserve, Shepherd and Lovell. Recent projects include the NHS Blood Transfusion centre in Sheffield, St George's Crypt homeless shelter in Leeds, St Gemma's Hospice in Leeds and Thames Barrier, London.
Navitas
Keen to embrace new technologies, the directors of Serkit Electrical teamed up with two specialist Solar engineers to form Navitas Solar Installations Ltd; a company dedicated purely to Solar PV (photovoltaic) a product widely regarded as being at the forefront of renewable technologies and one which creates great synergy for Serkit as the combination of our expertise allows us to offer a full turnkey solution on all types of projects.
In accordance with the core values of Serkit Electrical; Client recommendation is the cornerstone for Navitas Solar Installations
By providing the complete Solar PV package from consultation through to design, project management and installation, Navitas have successfully delivered large scale and multi site Solar PV systems for Main building contractors, social housing organisations, private companies and public sector organisations, all of which is additional to a regular flow of private domestic installations which come predominantly via customer referral.
